Pandit Nakul Mishra hails from the eminent Banaras Gharana and is considered to be one of the foremost and finest players of Tabla. He started receiving his intial training from his father Pt. Nanhu Mishra (a disciple of the legendary Tabla artiste, late Pt. Kanthe Maharaj), and received further training from Pt. Gopal Mishra. He has performed across the globe.
He is an extremely versatile artist. He is a 'Top Grade' artist at the All India Radio. Besides being an excellent soloist, he has provided accompaniment to may Classical , Thumri, Ghazals, Geet/Bhajnas, Gujarati Folk music artistes. He has also given accompaniment to Kathak dance performance. He possess amazing control over ‘Taal’ and ‘Laya’, mastery over complex rhythmic patterns, and combines speed and clarity with great dexterity.
He is a revered teacher (guru), and has been religiously training his students in the art of Beneras Tabla playing for the past several years.
